Teri was born on August 8, 1960, in El Paso to Walter and Betty Gilmore. She was the youngest of five siblings and enjoyed a spirited and adventurous youth, graduating from Bel Air High School in 1978 where she was both a cheerleader and Homecoming Queen and where she made many of her life-long friends.
Teri made her living in sales and she loved to travel with friends and family and was able to visit many different countries around the world. She also spent several years living in Hawaii, where her favorite thing to do was entertain visitors. She returned to El Paso to raise her son, Justin Arakaki, who was her pride and joy. She relished her time as a mom and never missed a hockey game or a marching band competition. Teri always added fun to family gatherings, and everyone she befriended became “extended family.” All who knew her will attest to her infectious laugh and her ability to make any occasion a great time.
She is survived by her son Justin and his wife Angel, her granddaughter Aria Arakaki (with whom Teri shares a birthday), sisters Amy Boswell (Bob) of Royse City and Lori Clayton (Marc) of Bonham, brothers Patrick Gilmore of Mexico and Gary Gilmore (Tom Pullen) of Dallas, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Marriott El Paso Airport, 1600 Airway Blvd, El Paso.
