Terry Aguilar

Terry Aguilar died peacefully at her home on January 19th 2015 in El Paso, Texas. Terry was born on November 21, 1928 in Stanton, Texas to her parents Marcelo & Catalina Minjarez. Raised in a small town of Wink, Texas, she married and later moved from Wink/Grandfalls, Texas to El Paso, Texas in 1964. Retired from Mervyns and was co-owner of Val-Mart Supermarket and Terry’s Pit BBQ. She was well known for her fun theme parties and loved to dance to Big Band music and loved to play Bingo. She especially enjoyed traveling with her sisters across the country. Terry Aguilar is survived by her husband: Valente “Ben” Aguilar (they were married for only 67 years) and her children Linda Mummert (Dennis Mummert), John Aguilar (Lynn Aguilar), Bonnie Carter (Jerry Carter), Sylvia Sweat (Alree Sweat), Kitty Munn, Rick Aguilar & Sam Aguilar (Eileen Aguilar); sister: Blasa Saldivar; and brother: Leonard Minjarez. She has 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 23, 2015 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
