Wallace Raymond Moore Jr., 76, of Tularosa NM, passed away August 1, 2024, at UNM hospital in El Paso, Texas. He was born in Lamesa, TX on February 15,1948, to Wallace R Moore Sr., and Sarah Anna Godfrey.
Wallace, a true believer of education, graduated with many academic achievements: a Bachelors of Arts in English and History from TCU, Masters of Liberal Arts in English and Writing from Sul Ross State University, and hours towards his PhD in Spanish Literature and Culture. A passionate educator, Wallace dedicated over half his life to teaching. He left his mark across Texas and New Mexico, forever leaving an impression on thousands of students for his quirky teaching style and memorable stories.
For those that knew Wallace it was understood that any encounter would lead to a conversation that could range from half an hour to an all day affair. He would greet you in Spanish regardless if you spoke it, but at the drop of a hat he could transition to a Scottish bloke, or Forrest Gump. However, if any problem should arise he would be quick to call Vinny to handle any problem. One would never know which character would come out when they saw Wallace, but rest assured he could always make you laugh. He leaves behind many wonderful stories and memories that will live on as his legacy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his dear aunt Jean, and his beloved wife Diolanda Moore.
He is survived by daughter, Christina Perez, son John Daniel Perez (Erika), grandsons Christopher, Marc, Isaiah, Xavier, Daniel, Eric, granddaughter and partner in crime Christiana, great grandchildren Elaina, Viviana and Marcos.
