William Kline Mosley, or "Bill," as he was known to family and friends, was born on July 22, 1941 and passed peacefully during the early morning hours of January 21, 2023 to be home with our Lord, Jesus Christ. His devotion to his Country was evident when he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps as a young man. After receiving a medical discharge from the Marine Corps, Bill started his apprenticeship with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Geraldine, or "Jerri," Downing. After a brief engagement, Bill and Jerri were married on February 2, 1966 and within the following two years welcomed two daughters, Rhonda and Rebecca. Bill and Jerri were blessed to enjoy 57 years of marriage. Bill's enduring relationship with his loving Savior was consistently apparent throughout his life, from his daily Bible readings, to his service in his church choir, to his attendance at the Acts men's retreat in Las Cruces, NM. He wore the bracelet he received from that retreat up until his passing. Eventually becoming a Master Journeyman electrician, Bill worked from sun-up to sun-down for 45 years to provide for his family before his retirement from the IBEW in 2011. Bill was able to fix or make anything and he exemplified a strong work ethic and the value of hard work in order to accomplish one's goals and dreams. He passed these traits on to his daughters and granddaughters, teaching them to strive to be and to do their very best in all things. He was a constant example of the sacrificial love of a husband and a father who always put the needs of his family above his own. Through the good years and bad, Bill was a faithful Dallas Cowboys fan, a trait which he also passed on his daughters. He was a friend to all who knew him, he was honest, true, and humble, with never a negative word to say about anyone. Although his last days on this earth were filled with pain and much suffering, his complaints were few. We will miss him terribly, however, we feel blessed that the Lord took him home so mercifully, where we know he is now joyful and without pain. As "Bill," "Daddy," "Poppy," "Poppo," and "Papa Bill," his life is one to be honored and respected, and he will always be remembered as one of the good ones. ❤️
Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Geraldine Ruth Downing, daughters, Rhonda Denise Shofner and Rebecca Anne Mahoney, granddaughters, Kimberlie Anne Shofner, Bethanie Ilene Shofner and Abigail Frances Shofner, and brother, Bufred Mosley.
