He will be missed. He was the best grandfather that ever lived and his grandchildren will miss him dearly as he has always been there for them. R.I.P.

Sending our condolences to Helen and the Family.    SGM (Ret) Peterson, aka “Pete” and my Big Brother. Pete always kept me laughing when we would come to visit and  people would call to try to sell him something or tried to get information from him, like is this the telephone number of …. and he would say “I don’t know - do you not know who you are calling? Did you just pick a random number from the telephone book”?  One of my most  memorable moment was while we were both stationed at the Sergeant’s Major Academy.  He comes into  S-1 and he’s trying to get one our attention and he then says “come here soldier that has the same last name as his”.  I then go to the counter and our conversation goes something like this after I asked how I could help him:
SGM:  Where did you get your last name from?
Me:  I married into the name, SGM.
SGM:  Are we related?
Me:  SGM, not that I know of, but didn’t I mentioned I married into the name.
SGM:  It doesn’t matter, I got your back and we are now family.  Make me proud - you are representing our name.  
Me:  Will do, SGM. 

Needless to say, he kept his word, along with Mrs. Helen,  even after I remarried and was no longer a “Peterson”.  What I wouldn’t do to have a conversation with “My Big Brother” right now.  Rest in peace.  You are missed dearly.  Heaven has definitely gained another Angel!  Love Thomas (Tommy), Janet (Jan), Stephanie, and Johnathan.

I remember spending time at Pete and Helen’s house, with my mother, where the sounds of scrabble tiles, stories and laughter echoed for hours. My heart is heavy but I’m grateful to be able to look back on those wonderful memories. Rest well, Pete, and please take care of yourself, Helen.

I would like to express my sorrow and sincerest condolences to brother Peterson's family and love ones..!  Pete as we so affectionately called him was a mentor and friend of mine in both Kappa and as a fellow Sergeant Major.  He always was ready and willing to assist anyone.
