June 19, 1941 – February 10, 2026
Bill was born on June 19, 1941 in Muskegon, Michigan. Throughout his life, he was known for his strength, kindness, and devotion to his family. Bill was stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas in 1963. After serving, he then moved on to become a police officer for Southern Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad for 34 years. He lived a life marked by hard work, integrity, and quiet generosity.
He is survived by his beloved family, including his wife of almost 61 years, Shirley, his children Kristy, Karen, and Willie (Karina), his grandchildren Jacob and Katie, his brother Lyle (Kazue), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Christine, and his siblings Jim, Mary, and Robyne.
Bill enjoyed singing in the church choir, woodworking, and the outdoors. He will be remembered for his quiet nature, his love of family, and his faith.
A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church located at 2800 Pershing Drive, El Paso, Texas 79903 on March 20, 2026, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Zion Lutheran Church, the Lewy Body Dementia Association, or your favorite charity.
Bill’s legacy of love and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
