Wyatt and I were great friends in middle school and early high school. Ms. Britt was one of the greatest people I will ever meet. She was an educator, and took me with them on their awesome adventures from Civil War reenacting to Boy Scout trips. I am devastated to hear of her passing. I hope you’re doing well Wyatt. -Tyler

Ms. Britt found my son's voice. My son loved her - and we did too. She could always bring a smile to his face and always knew when she could push the gas or pump the brakes in terms of his comfort and ability level. She recognized him as a savant in mathematics and language, giving us the terminology to describe his unique and amazing abilities. She also inspired me to shift my career to study the subject of teaching autistic kids. I found out she passed because I wanted to share with her the techniques I now recognized in my textbook of best practices from her early intervention. We didn't text often, but she was always available to provide her expertise or well wishes when we did. The world has lost an incredible light. My biggest hope is that she can now see all of the good she accomplished in the lives of the children and families she helped. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.

Oh how I wish we had taken a picture or two together.. Britt was a wonderful person, so good with kids, which is in a way how we met. She will be missed terribly.  Prayers for her family.  My heart goes out to each of you.

Britt will be missed. She provides so much help to families of young children. She has served as a mentor to early childhood students who are student teaching in the developmental intervention program. Britt is always concerned about serving those children and families most in need. I'm so grateful to have known Britt as a student in my classes and as a professional educator.

Britt had the most contagious laugh and her smile was as big as her heart. She cared deeply for family and friends. Britt’s spirit, laugh and love will be deeply missed. Much love to Britt….until we meet again!!!

Aunt Britt truly was one of the best people I've ever known and one of the most important people in my life. There is no exaggerating how deeply she impacted my life, how deeply she impacted me as a person. Who I am today is in no small part because of Britt. The way I view the world, the way I view myself, and the way I interact with my own niece and nephews are inextricable from Aunt Britt's presence in my life. Every time I talk to my niece and nephews, it's modeled off of how she talked to me when I was their age. It is not a reach to say that I learned how to be an aunt from her. Nearly all of my favorites memories have her in it, and the ones she's not directly involved in are things I almost immediately told her about. The grief I feel at losing her is matched only by the love I hold for her.  It was, is, and will always be an honor that I got the privilege of being her niece.

Aunt Britt got me into scouts, and because of her I've met some of my closet friends, including my life long partner. Here's the night she helped celebrate me with becoming Eagle Scout.

Britt, the best word I can think of to describe you is Joy.   You made such a positive impact on so many others in your too-short life.  I love you, will  think of you often, and miss you.

I wish I could find the pictures, Britt worked with my son Barry and helped him make so much progress with first steps. I was devastated when I heard of her passing and my thoughts and prayers are with her family during this time. She was a wonderful dedicated person

Grayson jumped right in her lap and made himself comfy while Britt read him a book! This was her last visit with us..He loved her visits and would get so excited to see her bright smile.

Britt loved Brennen and he loved her, so very much. We all did. She truly became a part of our family. Our favorite part of the week was her visit, and we often talked in-between visits. She was the best person I know, and quickly became a close friend.

Britt will be missed so much by all the staff at KEIS/First Steps but even more by the children and families she served. Britt cared so deeply for each family she worked with and always went above and beyond to help them be successful. I never had a meeting with her that she didn’t have a huge smile on her face. She was always so positive and was each parent and child’s biggest cheerleader. There are no words to express what a loss this is for our program. We are keeping her family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.

Words can not express the void we all are feeling with you gone, but we know you are in a better place. I still remember the first time we met over a decade ago. The laughs we shared, trips we enjoyed will always be in our hearts.
