

Debbie was the first Black Homecoming Queen at East Hardin and she had a Master's Degree in Divinity from Dallas Baptist University. She was also a member of Little Zion Baptist Church, where she spent her time Ministering through Divine Intervention Appointments; she prayed with the homeless and provided financial gifts for individuals who fell on hard times. She absolutely loved her Lord and Savior and wanted to share with others about Him. Debbie was a proud grandmother and cherished her grandchildren deeply. She also enjoyed traveling, swimming, and her little Debbie Cakes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elwood and Alice Phillips; brother, Mike Phillips; and sister, Margaret Durham.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Chandra Gray (Jeremy); grandchildren, James Caleb Jordan Briggs, Joshua Josiah Briggs, Adiah Tove' Gray, Makayla Gray, Zechariah Gray, Adonai Gray; and siblings,
John Robert Phillips (Dorothy), Edward Phillips, and Mark Phillips (Joane).
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, March 8th, at 1 PM, at Brown Funeral Home. Debbie will be buried privately at Little Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made out to the family at this time.
