

He was born Dec. 14, 1947, in Barren County, to the late Veachel Lile and Othella Rock Lile.
Denzil was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and after retirement dedicated his time to VFW Post No. 6281, DAV No. 003 and American Legion Post No. 113. He also was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, a 2018 inductee into the Kentucky Veteran Hall of Fame and a Kentucky Colonel. He also still found time to volunteer for Hosparus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Trewresa Judd.
Denzil is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Connie Wright Lile; a son, Troy Lile (Angela); three grandchildren, Shawn (Makayla), Trevor and Connor; two great-grandchildren, Maci and Weston; two siblings, Gardenia Riordan and Deward Lile; and many other nieces, nephews and extended family.
A service to celebrate Denzil’s life is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. He will be laid to rest with honors at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central following the service.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Denzil’s honor to DAV Chapter No. 003.
