Born on March 22, 1938, Donald lived life on his own terms – fearlessly, unapologetically, and always with a quick joke at the ready.
A true original, Donald was the kind of man, who lit up every room he entered. With his sharp wit, and magnetic personality, he brought joy, humor, and a little bit of mischief wherever he went. He was strong willed, some might say stubborn – but he was also fiercely loyal, deeply compassionate, and never hesitated to help someone in need.
To his family and friends, Donald was more than just a presence – he was a force. He gave generously, loved fully, and could make even the hardest days a little lighter with his humor. Donald’s absence leaves a void that can’t be filled, but his stories, his laughter, and the sheer joy of knowing him will live on in all who had the honor of sharing his extraordinary life.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; Carl and Daisy Hatton Johnson; one son, Paul Kenton Johnson; one daughter, Rita Marie Johnson; and his brother, Paul W. Johnson.
Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Cope and her husband, Bryan; one son, Jason Johnson and his wife, Camille; the mother to his children, Roberta "Birdie" Johnson; his sister, Lois Johnson; grandchildren, Dalton and his wife Cassidy, Brenden, Logan, Donnie, Joey, Amber, Dylan, Corey, and Monica; and several great- grandchildren.
