

She was a native of Elizabethtown, graduated from Elizabethtown High School, and St. Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and was the past president of the PTA at St. James School and Building Committee for the current church. She was a Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts leader, and an avid bridge player and sports and horse racing fan. She was a best friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. "Chub" Dixon; sister, Barbara McFarland Mathis; and parents, G.W. and Alma Laureen Rihn McFarland.
She is survived by her son, Bill Dixon of Elizabethtown; daughter, Barbara Dixon Mattingly; two grandchildren, Carrie Smith and Monica Marks; 6 great grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home.
