
He was a native of Fulton, served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer and Public Relations Officer. He retired from Fort Knox Civil Service as a Computer Network Administrator. He was a volunteer for Boy Scouts of America that met at Memorial United Methodist Church, was a member of the American Legion Post #113 and formerly was a member of the EHS Band Boosters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Matthew and Dorothy Elliott Exum and a brother, Jerry Elliott.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patricia Morrison Exum; two sons, Thomas Matthew Exum, II of Louisville and Jonathan Smyth Exum and his wife Jasmine of Shelbyville; two sisters, Sherry Jeffries of Franklin, NC and Pat Ballou of Louisville and four grandchildren, Connor Exum, Jack Exum, Grace Wilkinson and Melody Wilkinson.
A Graveside Service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff with Rev. Charles Austin officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday at Brown Funeral Home.
