He was born January 24, 1956, in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late Lawrence Varner and Ethel Katherine Stonebreaker McCrobie.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Susan Evans McCrobie; three sons, H. Robert McCrobie, Jr., Lawrence Varner McCrobie and Bradley Joe McCrobie, all of Elizabethtown; one brother Samuel McCrobie of Reedsville, WV; four sisters, Marlene Jenkins and Lilly Reckart of Kingwood, WV, Ida Stonebreaker of Waynesburg, PA, and Charlotte Kisner of Brave, PA; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers, Charles, James, Edd, David, Joseph, John, George and Bradley; seven sisters, Bettie, Barbara, Rosemary, Patty, Bonnie, Candy and Pamela.
Cremation was chosen. Celebration of life will be held in West Virginia, in the spring.
