Jim was born on May 18, 1954, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late James G and Louise Tichenor Maddox.
He was known for his love of dogs, gardening, woodworking, and his Viking heritage. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran, retiring as Chief. He then retired from the US Post Office. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Maddox.
He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Nancy E. (Hensley) Maddox; children, Tracy Crawford, Joseph (Natasha) Maddox, Rebecca (Phil) Newton; grandchildren, Jarrod, Justin, Jacen, Dustin, Bobby, and Logan.
Visitation time will be held on Friday, April 18, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College Street, Elizabethtown, with Military Honors at 4:00 P.M. Entombment will take place at a later date at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218.
