Jan Rae Neal

Jan is survived by her son, James Kelten Neal and his wife Elaine; her daughters, Lois “Frances” Cavinder and her husband Rod, and Cheryl Vertrees and her husband Eric. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Montgomery. Jan was a cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren, a great-grandmother to eighteen great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandmother to three great-great-grandchildren.

Jan was known for her passion for singing, both as a choir member and soloist at her church, where she delighted in performing Christian songs and songs of her generation. She was married to Doug Neal for 67 years, who preceded her in death. Jan found joy in doing online puzzles, painting, playing bingo, watching game shows and Christian pastors, and socializing with her friends at Robinbrooke.

A visitation will be held at Northside Baptist Church, located at 1800 Pear Orchard Road, Elizabethtown, KY 42701, on November 29, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. Jan will be laid to rest at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
