Jean Allen Monin Cooke

December 19th, 2021. She was born November 16th,1932 in Cadiz, KY and grew up in

Glendale, KY, and graduated from Glendale High School. She attended David Lipscomb

College and received her B.S. in Education from Western Kentucky University. Jean enjoyed a

lifetime teaching career at Lincoln Trail Elementary School from 1966 until her retirement in

1992. As a member of First Christian Church in Elizabethtown, she also enjoyed teaching

children in Sunday School.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents Carl Crow Monin and Verna Allen Monin, her twin

brother Carl Albin Monin, and her grandson David Cooke. She is survived by her husband of 67

years, Alan Burton Cooke, children Mark Cooke (Jan) of Glendale, KY; Terry Cooke of

Elizabethtown KY; her grandsons Alan Cooke (Jessica) of Oakland, CA, Drew Cave of

Louisville, KY and Justin Cave of Knoxville, TN; three great-granddaughters; and sister-in-law,

Bertha Monin of Tullahoma, TN.

Visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, Kentucky on Saturday, January

8th from 10:00am until 1:00pm with funeral services following officiated by Chris Kiger of First

Christian Church. Burial will follow at Glendale Christian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
