Kenneth Wayne Quire Sr., 82, of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 20, 1942, in Louisville, KY, to Stanley and Monzelle Quire.
Ken was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Lucas Quire; his grandson, Blake Switow; and his brothers, Stanley Quire Jr. and Donald Quire.
He was a devoted husband, father, and friend who lived his life with kindness, humor, and a strong sense of family. After many years of hard work while raising their family in Louisville, KY, Ken and Mary retired to Florida, where they enjoyed warm weather, new friendships, and a well-earned life of relaxation.
A proud graduate of the University of Kentucky, Ken dedicated his career to helping others as a Pharmacist before retiring. His commitment to his profession reflected his deep care for his community and those he served. He was also a lifelong Kentucky Wildcats fan, with a pure, unadulterated hatred for all things UL.
He is survived by his four children, Ken Quire Jr. (Dorinda), Kathy Switow (John), Pam Rogers, and Kevin Quire (Jessica); his sister, Paula Roy (Thomas); as well as nine beloved grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who will forever carry his love, wisdom, and unwavering support in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor and remember Ken. Details will be shared with family and friends once finalized.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at RobinBrooke Senior Living Center in Elizabethtown, KY, for their kindness, care, and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken’s memory to Hosparus Health Central Kentucky, supporting their compassionate care for individuals and families in need.
