

Loetta was born October 26, 1935, to Emmit Williams Gray and Viola Mae Gray in Hardin County. She was the second born of four children. Her two brothers died as infants, and her sister and lifelong best friend is Lelia Mae Bennett of Cecilia. Loetta and Lelia Mae grew up working hard alongside their loving parents on their farm.
Loetta was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Morris, who she wed in December 1956 at Vertrees Baptist Church. Loetta and Ralph had three children who forever will cherish their mother and father, Herbert Williams (Debbie), Ellen Renee (Dale) and David Michael (Yolanda). In addition, they have six grandchildren, Christian, Brandi, Brandon, Clancy, Mabyn and Sennet; also, three great-grandchildren, Aspen, Arli and Kathryn.
Loetta loved her family, deeply.
Loetta was blessed with several loving family members throughout her life. Remaining are all of her nieces and nephews, Melanie, Richard Lynn, Darrell, Marie, Danita and Stephen of the Morris' and Natalia and Donna Jo of the Gray’s.
Loetta graduated from Howevalley High School, where she served as Class President her senior year. She attended Campbellsville Baptist College and later worked in administration at Fort Knox Army Base; University of Kentucky Extension Office and she would go on to retire with the Hardin County School District.
Loetta’s most notable accomplishment was serving as a devout Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years. Loetta loved studying and teaching God's Word. Later Ralph and Loetta were active members of Northside Baptist Church in Elizabethtown and loved their church family.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Northside Baptist Church in Elizabethtown.
Loetta will be laid to rest in Constantine Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown and continues at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
