Martha McNamara

Martha was an Elizabethtown Catholic High School graduate in 1964. She then entered the Sisters of Loretto Novitiate, while aso completing her college studies in St. Louis, MO, at Webster College. Her postgraduate studies were completed at Southern Illinois University. After her studies, she went on to teach preschool in St. Louis for several years. Returning to Elizabethtown to retire, Martha was known to be a master storyteller as well as a lover and faithful friend to all. She especially enjoyed her luncheons with high school friends, reminiscing on the happiest of times.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Rihn McNamara and Rebecca Black McNamara; her brother, Robert "Bobby" McNamara; and her sister, Peggy Ann McNamara. Martha is survived by her younger sister, Mary Lane McNamara.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 4 - 8 pm at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, KY. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday at 11 am at St. James Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery. Any expressions of sympathy may go to a charity of your choice.
