Mary Helen Abell

She was a native of Hardin County and was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church. She retired from St. Christopher and loved to square dance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Masterson and Mary Lettie Masterson; her husband of 70 years, Shirley “Bud” Abell; a sister, Shirley May Milam; and her great-great-grandson, Vance Campbell Clark.

Survivors include three daughters, Lettie (Steve) Clark of Rineyville, Brenda (Tom) Clark of Vine Grove and Pam (Donald) Meredith of Elizabethtown; a sister, Doris Keplinger; a brother Delbert (Doris) Masterson; a brother-in-law, Bobby Masterson; eight grandchildren, Daniel (Melinda) Clark, Joe (Melody) Clark, Melissa (Brad) Coomes, Elaine Clark, Ellen (Steve) Dodson, Clint (Natasha) Clark, Dawn (Josh) Meredith and Richard (Becky) Meredith; 22 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday, March 23, at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Vine Grove with the Rev. Jeff Gatlin officiating. Burial follows in St. James Cemetery in Elizabethtown.

Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
