With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Patsy Ruth Krah , of Elizabethtown, KY, on March 1, 2025 at the age of 79. She was a woman of resilience, and an enduring spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. Patsy was born on July 2, 1945 in Columbiana, Alabama to James Monroe Patterson and Annie Louise Roberson Patterson. She married Wilford P. Krah in 1963 and together they built their home in Imperial, Missouri where she lived and raised her family for nearly 50 years.
For many years, Patsy worked overnights as a nursing aide for the elderly and ran a cleaning service, but her passion was in the care and dedication she poured into her thoroughbred race horses. She kept a stack of photos she would proudly present to anyone who visited.
In addition to her passion for horses, Patsy was an accomplished oil painter, often painting portraits of her family. Patsy also had a remarkable green thumb. Her garden was a testament to her appreciation for nature's quiet beauty. She took immense joy in walking through the forest near her home, often in search of morel mushrooms. Her love for the earth was a cornerstone of her life. Although she preferred the quiet life, Patsy was a devoted friend and looked forward to her social gatherings with the ladies at her local Red Hat Society.
Patsy is survived by her daughter, Tammy Ann (Lawrence) Kelley, her step-son, William Krah, her granddaughter, Elizabeth (Ryan) Skeens, her grandson, Patrick Krah, her great-grandsons, Desmond and Samuel Skeens, her brothers Monroe O’Neil Patterson, Franklin Leon Patterson, Johnny Ray Patterson and her sister, Carol Patterson Lucus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford P. Krah, her daughter, Annie Louise Krah, her step-daughter, Cynthia Rosson her sister, Shirley Ann Breaux, and her brother, James Earl Patterson.
