

Gene was a proud veteran who honorably served his country in the United States Navy, including service in Vietnam, and later in the United States Army, from which he retired in 1996. Following his military career, he continued his dedication to serving others as a volunteer firefighter and was an active member of the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club. Gene was known for his strong sense of duty, loyalty, and commitment to both his country and his community.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Aileen Sallee; his father, Willis Bible; his sister, Carol Bible; and his grandson, Matthew Cordell.
Gene is survived by his beloved wife, Rose M. Bible. Through their marriage, he is also survived by his stepdaughters, Jamie Rose Wyland and her husband, Benjamin Wyland, and Mary Beth Rodio and her husband, Ryan Rodio. Jamie and Benjamin’s family includes their children, Jennifer Wyland Otjen and her husband, Matthew Otjen, and their late son, Justin Graham Wyland. Mary Beth and Ryan’s family includes their children, Ivy Ariana Powers and her husband, Issiah Powers, along with Paige, Zoey, and Clara Rodio, all of Knoxville, Tennessee. Gene is also survived by his children from a previous relationship, Crystal Fackrell and her husband, Phil Fackrell, of Good Hope, Illinois, and Michael Bible of Blandinsville,Illinois. Crystal and Phil’s daughter, Jessica, was a cherished granddaughter. Michael’s children include Hunter Bible of Blandinsville, Illinois, and daughters Emma and Kinslee. Gene was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Lainey. Gene will be remembered for his service, his dedication to his family, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 22nd at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
