

He was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky, on June 26, 1931. He was the son of Lon and Katherine Keith.
He was a member of the Hodgenville High School class of 1949. He married the love of his life, Susan Shipp, February 24, 1951, who preceded him in death on September 2, 2023. Their children and their mates-who he claimed as his children too-are: Lon Keith, M.D. (Angela), Roy Keith, Jr. (Linda), Mary (Dick Bell), Sue (Greg Jenkins) and Beth (Ernest Pardue). He is also survived by 14 beloved grandchildren and 19 plus three-on-the-way great-grandchildren, a sister Katherine Bell and a brother John Keith.
Roy loved Jesus and served Him as best he could at Severns Valley Baptist Church since 1951. He served on the Elizabethtown Independent School System board from 1964-1968, Baptist Hospital board from 1968-1985, as well as served on other Baptist and business boards.
Roy was an astute, well-respected businessman, working forty years at Keith Monument Company which was founded in 1867. Roy was the fourth generation of family in a six-generation business.
He will best be remembered for his optimism, generosity and fabulous sense of humor.
Visitation for Mr. Keith will be held on Saturday, March 1, from 1:00 – 5:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College Street, Elizabethtown. Visitation on Sunday will continue at Severns Valley Baptist Church, 1100 Ring Road, Elizabethtown, from 2:00 P.M. until the time of Funeral at 3:00 P.M. Pastor Emory Riley will officiate and burial will follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
