

Scott Anthony York, age 63, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed away after a life marked by service, dedication, and creativity. He was born June 17, 1962, in West Memphis, Arkansas. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, JoAnn Elder and Gene York. He was also deeply influenced and loved by his close stepfather, Homer Smith, who played an important role in his life. Scott was a graduate of Arkansas State University, where he earned a degree in Graphic Design and participated in ROTC. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Major. During his military career, Scott was both a pilot and mechanic for Black Hawk and Apache helicopters and served honorably during Desert Storm. Following his military service, Scott continued his commitment to public service through a second career in law enforcement. He served as a police officer and detective with the Elizabethtown Police Department, where he was respected for his professionalism, integrity, and dedication to his community. Outside of his careers, Scott was a man of many interests and talents. He loved fly fishing on the White River in Arkansas, playing golf, motorcycle riding, painting, woodworking, reading, and enjoying a good poker game. Scott was a proud member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, the American Legion, and the Lincoln Trail Vine Grove Golf Course. Scott is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Barbara York (Baney); his daughter, Alecia Karr (Adam Karr); his brother, Paul York (Kathy); his stepchildren, Mary Conder (Dewayne Conder), Francis Ball Jr. (Brandee Ball), and Amanda Fahlberg (Zach Fahlberg); his beloved dog, Zoey; and seven cherished grandchildren—Brooke, Bridgett, Chesney, Kylie, Zander, Scarlett, and Willow—and six great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy. Scott Anthony York will be remembered for his service to his country and community, his artistic spirit, and his deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the example he set through a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to North Hardin Christian Church, P.O. A visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home on January 21st, 2026, starting at 11 am until time of service at 2 pm. Burial will be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, January 22nd at 10:30 AM.
