Walter Windfield Martin

Walter was preceded in passing by his wife, Ruby Martin; son, Terry Martin; great-granddaughter, Koda Dean; parents, Willie and Lena Martin; and siblings, Charles Edward Martin, Norma Jean Lyon, and Alice Oller.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Jessica Dean (Cody); siblings, Mary Frances Brown (Jim), Joanna Enlow (Kelly); special niece, Darlene Padgett; and many other loved nieces and nephews.

Walter had a tender heart for all living things, so much so he wouldn’t even harm a bug. Being with his dogs and cats made him most happy. He was talented at building things and woodworking, finding satisfaction in creating with his hands and sharing that practical gift with others. Christmas was his favorite holiday and, much to his granddaughter’s chagrin, Walter was a devoted University of Kentucky Basketball fan, cheering faithfully and proudly.

Visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College St., Elizabethtown, Kentucky 42701, on April 3, 2026, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow on April 3, 2026, at 1:00 pm.

Walter will be laid to rest at Big Springs Baptist Cemetery.
