Byrnece M. White

Byrnece attended EMU for 1 year before she married Robert F. White on Christmas day in 1938. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, teaching music, and painting. She was best known for her time spent at the fruit stand at the family farm. People were always stopping by to see her. Byrnece was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Elk Rapids, and the Ladies Extension Club. She also started the hot lunch program for the Elk Rapids Schools.

Byrnece is survived by her children Kay (Fred) Vermeersch, Virginia Gale White, Margaret (Al) Mowers, Jane (Jack) Howard. Grandchildren Mark White, Victoria Van, and Christen (Scott) Korstange, Patricia (Rodney) Donaldson. Great grandchildren Robert ‘Bob’ White, Brittany White, Mckenzie, Chance, and Tucker Donaldson, Amara and Liam Korstange, Great-great grandchildren Jacob DeMann and Delaney White. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert White, son Tom White, siblings Ralph L. Nelson, Beula Swanson, Helen Grammel, Keith Grammel, and Clark Grammel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 5 to 8pm at Covell Funeral Home in Elk Rapids. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11am, with visitation one hour prior, at Covell Funeral Home in Elk Rapids. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy, 3860 N Long Lake Rd, Traverse City, MI 49684.
