

On a bright and sunny afternoon, July 27, 2016, Stephanie Louise Sanford Dean was unexpectedly called to heaven where she will start another journey beyond life as we know it. May she rest in peace by the side of her Lord, Jesus Christ.
Stephanie Louise Sanford was born on March 26, 1966 in Kalkaska Michigan to Harold and Alice (Ottgen) Sanford. She graduated from Elk Rapids High School in June of 1984. After school, she went on to receive an Associate’s Degree in Dental Assisting. On August 4, 1990, she married the love of her life, Tony Dean. The brightest shining moment of their life was the birth of their son, Vincent James Dean.
Stephanie had many friends and relatives and was loved by all. She will be greatly missed.
As we travel down the path of life, it is not easy to lose a loved one like Stephanie. She will always be in our prayers and in our hearts. Always kind and helpful to others, she would go out of her way to help those who needed her.
The memories of her and Tony hauling Vincent and his friends to hockey games will never be forgotten. The great trips the families took together will be in our thoughts forever. Stephanie, with her husband Tony own Chemical Control, a pest control business in the surrounding area. They also own and operate a number of fruit farms.
Stephanie is survived by her loving husband, Tony and son, Vincent, mother; Alice (Ottgen) Sanford, father; Harold Sanford, sisters; Laurie Ann (Chris) Copeland, Kelly Marie (Terry) Stachnik, Katherine Lorraine Sanford, Tammie Christine (Craig) Barnhart, brother; Christopher Daniel (Marianna Tornow) Sanford, brother in law; Mickey (Joy) Dean, mother in law; Judy Dean, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, special friends; Debbie (Tim) Bantien and Jenny (Bob) Miller.
Preceding her in death were grandfather and grandmother Francis (Segna Polander) Sanford, Also Ben (Eunice Heller) Ottgen, father in law; James Dean, brother in law; Franz Eric Dean, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
You have touched the hearts and lives of many. Those of us left behind hope and pray that your new journey will lead you to a place of peace and love. Always thinking about you, your loving family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016; 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. at Covell Funeral Home in Elk Rapids. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016; 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Stephanie’s memory, may be directed to the Bay Reps Varsity Hockey.
