Eileen I am so sorry to hear about Bill's passing.  What a terrible loss for all that knew and loved him.  I am so thankful I had the privilege of meeting you both on my visit with Debbie in the Spring.  I continue to think of you all.  My sincere sympathy to you all. Upon hearing the news of Bill, my heart just mourned..... I have so many wonderful memories growing up of Mr. Burgess, all the way from your lovely home in Grand Ledge, to your newer home in Lansing, to the times that I was blessed to spend time with you all at your beautiful cottage up north. Mr. Burgess always shared the warmest greetings with me whenever I would come over to hang out or just to briefly visit. He had such a jovial and loving spirit that always lit up the room. I feel so blessed that I was able to grow up with the positive influence of Bill and your family. I have the fondest of memories with you that I will always treasure. Bill was a huge help to our family in our time we needed him and truly respected him in his trust in us and helping us out. It has been our pleasure to have known this great guy.

       For ten years, I had the privilege of working with Bill. He was a bright and vigorous business person who was very principled in his moral thoughts and actions at work and his personal life. He was an inspiring leader and rich in his counsel. He earned respect but he always gave it. Bill often referred to making good choices as a foundation for good business decisions and success in life. Bill made the best of choices in his life-mate Eileen as his wife. His guidance and support for Hannah and Allison were in the image that he lived and worked.  Perhaps, there will be a day when Bill and I can once again enjoy a cigar together. Bill and his family were neighbors of ours in East Lansing as children. So sorry to learn of this news. My condolences and sympathy to all of his family and friends.

My last correspondence with him, we shared pics of our granddaughters. He loved being a grandpa. We lost him way too early. Prayers to all of you.

Bill turned out to be patient, knowledgeable, and kind. He continued to show those traits for as long as I knew him. I met Bill several years ago at one of our car clubs , Thursday breakfasts . I found Bill to be one of the most likable people that I ever met . Bill would always look you in the eye and listen to what you had to say . I enjoyed talking to Bill about cars and MSU football . Bills passing is so disturbing and sad . We feel so blessed to have had some time to get to know such a kind, gracious and fun loving man! His life was cut too short for sure, but he leaves behind so many people who had such admiration for him!  Go Now in Peace My Friend!
