Bernie will be remembered as more than a patriarch; but as a great friend and more importantly as an awesome Pop to his grands! He loved family gatherings, especially over the holidays. He cherished these moments and valued the importance of spending quality time with those he cared about. His contagious laugh, warm presence and caring nature touched the lives of all who knew him. Throughout his life, Bernie found joy in working on old cars, racing stock cars, tractor pulls, attending car shows, avidly watching NASCAR races and anything that has to do with his favorite actor, John Wayne. But most of all, his pride and joy was his 1957 Ford Fairlane. His passion for these pursuits reflected his adventurous spirit.
As we reflect on Bernie's life, let us remember the laughter he brought, the memories he created, and the love he shared. In honoring his legacy, may we find solace in the cherished moments and find strength in the bonds that were created.
Rest in peace, Bernie, Dad, Pop. Your spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you. You will be missed but never forgotten.
