Charlotte Rose Amara Loggins entered the world with excitement on March 30, 2021, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland. From the moment she arrived, Maya and Travis knew she was the boss of the house.
Charlotte attended Chapel Forge Early Learning Center in Bowie, Maryland, where she thrived and cherished time with her friends. She also dedicated many of her weekdays to hard work in her therapy sessions at Children’s National Rehabilitation and Specialized Care.
Charlotte had an array of affectionate nicknames—Cha, Cha-Cha, Pumpkin Patch, Pumpkin Pie, Muffin Drops, Muffins, Pookie Pie, Honey Drops, Peaches, Baby Girl, and, of course, Princess Charlotte. No matter which name was called, she lit up with joy. She greeted many mornings with one of her favorite people, Ayoka Brown, who loved Charlotte’s smile. It had the magical ability to make you forget your worries, and her contagious laughter set off an entire room like a joyful domino effect.
One of Charlotte’s greatest joys was eating and snacking. She would happily munch all day if given the chance—especially on her beloved veggie straws, which she enjoyed for their satisfying crunch. She loved marshmallows and had a playful game where she’d try to catch your fingers like Baby Shark, giggling when she succeeded. If a meal was to her liking—be it chicken and gravy, Ledo’s pizza, spaghetti, mac & cheese, sweet potato pie, rice and beans, hot cocoa, yogurt, or strawberry milk—she would celebrate with an enthusiastic clap of her lips and a wide, satisfied smile.
She had a knack for getting others to share their food, no matter what it was. If it was finger-licking good, she expected you to surrender your plate to her, no questions asked!
Charlotte’s motivation during therapy sessions often came in the form of her favorite snacks. She was known to negotiate for treats—if told she could have three scoops of ice cream after 15 sit-ups, she would muster a sudden burst of energy to complete them all, finishing with a triumphant smile.
She was a people person, though she playfully took her time warming up to new faces. Charlotte loved being entertained—whether through physical play or electronic media. If you knew her well, you probably had her favorite songs stuck in your head at night. Her top picks included “Ms. Rachel,” “Pete the Cat: I Love My Red Shoes,” and “Mother Goose Club’s Dinosaur Stomp.” She would giggle mischievously when her mom tried to suggest something new, only to end up playing the same songs over and over.
Mornings before school were filled with joy, especially when her absolute favorite, “God’s Greenhouse,” came on. If anyone dared to interrupt, she made sure to remind them who was in charge. Charlotte adored school and looked forward to seeing her regular bus drivers, teachers, and friends. When she returned home, she was eager to share the “juicy juice” of her day, bursting into laughter when someone finally guessed the right details.
Her love for her mother, Maya, was boundless. The sight of her mom could melt her heart all over again. If Maya danced to a silly song, Charlotte would crack up laughing, and their cuddle sessions on the couch were filled with playful moments—especially when she tugged at her mommy’s hair or sneakily pretended to bite her arm in a game of Baby Shark.
Charlotte’s love and affection extended to everyone she met, near or far. Whether on FaceTime with distant friends or making new ones in the neighborhood, her joy was infectious. Neighbors who hadn’t seen her in a while often mentioned how much they missed her radiant smile.
She also loved story time at the library and would come home to read her favorite books, including *One Love*, *My Mommy and Me*, *My ABCs of God Loves Me*, *Hey Diddle Diddle*, and *Bible Stories for Kids*.
The bond between Charlotte and her big brother, Julian, was like no other. She would fuss at him if he walked past without saying hello. Their couch cuddles were sacred—no one could come between them. She was his biggest cheerleader at his games.
Charlotte is survived by her parents, Maya Garrett Loggins and Travis Loggins-Santiago; brothers, Julian Loggins, Phillipp Davis and sister Zaria Loggins; aunts and uncles; George F. Garrett III, Stanya Stern-Garrett, Aaron Garrett, Shaticia Loggins; cousins; Danae Dowd, Brandon Garrett, Staniya Garrett, Cameron Garrett, Charles Robinson, TyeBresha Moreland, Laquajua Loggins, Shadericia Hunter, and Charlotte Rose’s niece, Sairy Ward and her beloved dog, Princess.

Charlotte’s presence brought light, laughter, and love to all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Her beautiful smile, joyful laughter, and boundless affection will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, sweet Princess Charlotte.
