

Christopher “Chris” Eure, 59, of Manhattan, New York was called home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, after battle with cancer.
Born May 14, 1964, Christopher was the son of Annie Mae Wallace Eure and the late George Eure. He attended Louis D. Brandeis High School in Manhattan, New York, where he excelled in basketball.
Christopher moved to Louisiana in 1987 and started his career as a Braille Transcriber before becoming a Welder, followed by a Welder Inspector. He completed his coursework in Welding Technology at Louisiana Technical College and in Civil Engineering at Trident Technical College. He held several registrations and certifications including AWS, Senior Certified Welding Inspector #12050018, ASNT NDT Level III, MT, PT, UT, VT #144130, WSP E& LS Inc., NDT Level II, MT, UT, Phased Array, J.W. Jackson & Associates, Certified ICC Bolting Inspector #5249660. He later moved back to New York where he did inspections on the World Trade Center Tower 1 and the 9/11 memorial at Ground Zero. He was most proud of this achievement.
Outside of work, Chris enjoyed long road trips with family, golf, chess, music, biking, and he loved a great cigar and Johnny Walker Blue. He was also an avid cruiser, which is how he met his wife Angel. They continued to cruise and travel together year after year.
He was preceded in death by his father George Eure; grandmothers Katherine Wallace Wimberly and Euzulia Eure. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Angel E. Eure; mother, Annie Mae Wallace Eure; mother-in-law, Charlotte Jamison; daughters, Alicia Eure, Shanteé Phenix (Antonio, Sr.), and Darénique Dawes (Eric, Sr.); son, Isaiah Goodman; grandchildren, Antonio Phenix, Jr., Jeremiah Phenix, Eric Dawes, Jr., and Tayla Phenix who he affectionally called “Speedy,” “Smiley,” “Wii,” and “Mini”; brothers, Ernest Bing, and Maurice Burrows; brother-in-law Reginald Jamison; sisters-in-law Denise Spriggs and Robin Jamison; and nephew, Taj Zahran. He also leaves a host of relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. on Saturday, June 24, 2023 for a viewing from 12:00 - 2:00pm immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 2:00 p.m. The address is 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Maryland 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100).
