On June 16, 2022, David Charles Smith, age 68 of Severn, Maryland, passed away, surrounded by his loving family. David was born on November 11, 1953 in Baltimore Maryland to parents George and Helen Smith. David was the beloved husband of 33 years to Beverly Smith (nee Bauer) and the devoted father of Melissa Thomas (the late Shawn) and Elizabeth Feltman (Chad); dear brother of Dale Byer (John); cherished grandfather of Shawn Thomas, Haley Faro, and Alex Feltman; loving uncle of Pam, Tim (Jill) and Andy (Leanne) Byer.
David spent 30 years of his career working for the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works, enjoying every day. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved taking trips to Ocean City, Maryland, riding his motorcycle and spending time on the water boating, fishing and eating crabs. David had the ability to fix just about anything that needed repair and because of this, he was named MacGyver.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Maryland 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm at which time a Celebration of Life Service will begin. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park. The Smith family requests that all guests should feel free to dress casually.
The Smith family is asking all guests to please wear a mask while gathered around those who might have compromised health.
