Donald, You were a hell of a man, I can only strive to be the man  you            were in your day for day existence . Iam sure that Margarite, Cory & Mandy miss you more & more each day, But if they believe that one day God will bring all of you back together never to be separated again. My deepest condolences to the family.  Just remembering the last time I saw Sonny at my moms house and he was just overwhelmed with all of moms decor.  Can’t remember the exact remark he made but we all laughed because he had been sitting so quietly and then he spoke about her things after looking around. You know if you ever been there it was like a museum.

When the Lord calls our loved ones home, He leaves a gift of memories in exchange. Hold on to you memories, and let them guide you during this sad time. We too, have many fond memories of our classmate and the time we spent together.

Major Holland you will truly be missed. My first impression of you was in April 1995 when I first started at MCIJ you were this smiling but serious face when zi entered the Roll Call room.as a ROOKIE. You said hi, I replied but I guess it wasn't loud enough because you said if I didn't hear you what makes you think an inmate will. So from that day forward  I used my Voice so you could hear me. I learned alot from you. You were an awesome mentor and great person. I know at times when I challenged things because I was a Union Steward you gave me that look like BLANK really. But it was never personal and you told me do your job, know policy and keep your head up you got this. 

RIP Major I know you have my 6 from up above.

My condolences and heartfelt sympathy for the lost of such a special person. He was truly my friend, mentor, and brother and life will never be the same without him.

Donald Sunny Holland was a man that everyone knew and appreciated, If you met him last month or 30 years ago he was the same likable individual week after week, month after month and year after year. I am not really good at this kind of writing, But I will say thank God that I had the opportunity to have Donald Sunny Holland in my professional & personal life.

My prayers are with you during this time. I know that you have many wonderful memories to cherish about Sonny that will help you in the coming days. I will always remember Sonny as a kind, gentle soul, soft spoken, but funny and a little mischievous.  😄 One thing I know is that he truly loved being a husband and father. That is a gift to last a lifetime. 

May God continue to hold you close in His loving arms of peace, comfort and healing.

There are no words for the legacy Sonny has left on our "family".  I use the word "family" because I considered Sonny as my "brother".  Without hesitation, he was always there for me and Matt whenever we needed a helping hand.  I will never forget how Sonny proudly stuck out his chest escorting two women (Margaret and me) on our many trips to Myrtle Beach and Florida.  I'm sad that he is gone but I'm happy to know that there is no more pain and suffering for him because he is now resting in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior!  Rest In Peace my brother!!

I have many fond memories of Sonny, a quiet man of God. To Margaret and Cory, please accept my sincere condolences. Sonny will be sorely missed. 

May you Rest In Peace, Donald. To anyone who knew Donald, they found him to be a personable and likable man. To Margaret  and  his family, scripture says; to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the  Lord. I’m sure Donald is with the Lord. It is my hope that I will see him again one day on the other side.
