Gloria Jean Hurd

Born April 28, 1942 in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of the late George Earl Bennett, Sr. and Ethel Elizabeth Bennett. Jeannie was a member of Conway Church of God and a woman of great faith who loved her Lord. She served as activities director for several different nursing facilities in Maryland. She loved celebrating the holidays with her family and often invited the elderly she served into her home. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Jeannie brought life into the room and made people feel welcome and part of the family. Everyone that met her loved her. She was always willing to help those in need and loved to laugh and make people laugh. She was predeceased by her brother, William Bennett.

Mrs. Hurd is survived by her husband of 35 years, John Hurd; her children, Michael Wilford, Sr. and his wife, Cindy of Fredericksburg, VA and Sally Jo Zepp and her husband William of Westminster, MD; her grandchildren, Michael Wilford, Jr., Jacquelyn Lu and her husband David, Gabriel Wilford and his wife Laura, Alexander Zepp, Andrew Zepp, and Avery Zepp; her great-grandchildren, Elijah Lu, Madeline Lu, and Lucia Wilford; her brothers, George Earl Bennett of Pasadena, MD and Donald Bennett and his wife Ann of Glen Burnie, MD; her sisters, Earlene Bull and Nancy Bennett, both of Maryland; and her sister-in-law, Gerri Bennett.

In her own words, “Please stay strong and firm in your faith in Jesus. We will be together with Jesus throughout eternity. We are so blessed. My love for you goes on always. God is good-All the time.”

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc., 7250 Washington Boulevard, Elkridge, MD 21075 (exit 6 off Rt. 100) on Thursday, October 6th, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm and 5 to 8 pm where Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 7th, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, MD.
