Helen Joanne Yanky, age 88, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Charles William and Marie Elton. She was married 51 years to her late husband Wimbert Yanky. She was a long-time resident of Severn before moving to Brightview Senior Living Community.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Evonne Elton. Left to cherish her memory are her sister Marlene Stivers; brother Bill Elton and wife Carol; son Kenneth Yanky and wife Cindy; daughter Janet Reiner and husband Steve; three cherished grandchildren, Alexander Yanky and wife Amy; Emily Reiner and Craig Reiner; and five great grandsons.
Joanne enjoyed several hobbies, especially crocheting and knitting. She and her husband enjoyed camping, cruising and traveling.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc., 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Maryland 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM at which time a Celebration of Life Service will begin. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
