John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joeann, sons John and wife Joy, Joseph and wife Renate, daughter Jacquelyn and husband Doug, 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
John was born on January 10, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School. As a young man, he worked at H & S Bakery saving his paychecks to buy his first car. John was an Air Force Veteran, having proudly served his country during the Vietnam era. He spent the majority of his career working as a Technician for the Department of Defense. John loved to cook and bake, especially hot milk cakes, cheesecakes, and shrimp pasta salad. He was one of the last of the family dumpling makers. When he wasn't cooking you would find him walking the dog, cutting the grass, watching Fox News or tinkering with one of his many cars. John had at least 2 dozen different cars over the years. At times the house looked like a used car lot.
John also enjoyed traveling. It all started in Hawaii. He and Joeann traveled across the US, throughout Europe and the Caribbean. His greatest joys were the times he spent with family. Especially the summertime crab feasts and holiday events. Family and friends will always remember him as a loving, reliable and loyal person. He will be truly missed.
