A man whose presence in this world was as solid and steadfast as the metal he worked with, Joseph Michael Pope, Sr. passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Joseph found joy in boating and crabbing during his free time, especially when he wasn’t dedicating himself to his career with the Local 100 Union Sheet Metal Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anita Pope and Andrew Pope. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Helen, his two sons, Jesse Pope and Joseph Pope, Jr., along with his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park on Thursday, December 18th, for visitation from 3–5 PM and 7–9 PM, where Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19th, 11:00 AM. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
To know Joseph was to love him. He surely will be missed.
