Matteo Joseph Piazza

Matt J. Piazza (75), of Seaford, DE passed away peacefully from Alzheimer’s on July 30th. Dr. Piazza was born in Albion, NY and pre-deceased by his parents Joseph and Josephine Piazza. He is survived by his loving wife Maryann Piazza, and three children - Rose Marie DiLosa and her husband Vincent, Michael Piazza and his wife Cynthia, and Deborah Schimmoller and her husband Brian. He was the dear grandfather of Andrew, Nicholas, Matthew, Kristen, Joseph, Adam, Allison, and Jennifer and the caring brother of Joseph Piazza and Rosalie Maxon.

Matteo retired as Technical Manager of Research and Development in 1990 after a long career with Dupont. He was an avid traveler, and enjoyed woodworking and playing his organ, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc., 7250 Washington Boulevard, Elkridge, MD 21075 (exit 6 off Rt. 100) on Monday August 3, 2015 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustine Church on 5976 Old Washington Rd. in Elkridge on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in tribute of Dr. Matt J. Piazza to the Alzheimer's Association (www. alz.org) or to Little Sisters of the Poor (Jeanne Jugan Residence 185 Salem Church Road Newark, DE 19713-2942).
