Richard "Rick" Conrad Hrybyk

On Friday, May 2, 2014, Richard “Rick” Conrad Hrybyk, age 55, Senior Advisory Engineer for Northrop Grumman, passed away. He was the loving husband of Susan Hrybyk (nee Imwold) of Linthicum Heights, MD. Beloved son of Catherine Hrybyk and the late William L. Hrybyk, he is also survived by his loving sons, Alex Hrybyk and Jonathan Hrybyk, his brothers, Michael Hrybyk and wife, Karen of New Westminster, BC, Canada, Bill Hrybyk and wife, Gina of Relay, MD, Steve Hrybyk and wife, Beth of Linthicum, MD, his sister, Mary Pat Hrybyk-Keith and husband, Gary Keith of Dewey Beach, DE, mother in-law, Mary Imwold, sisters in-law, Barbara Rose and husband, Phil, Carol Dyas and husband, John, Lindsay Gottschall, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends and his devoted dog, Chessie.

Mr. Rick Hrybyk received numerous recognitions and patents for his work on the F-16 family of radars. He was a triathlete, cyclist, and swimmer. He completed the 4.4 mile Great Chesapeake Bay Swim for ten consecutive years and raced the Savageman, Dewey Beach, and Columbia Triathlons, and the Civil War Century and Seagull Century 100 Mile Bike Rides. He coached his sons’ teams at LFYAA for many years, coached the Tri-Harder Triathlon Club of Baltimore, participated in numerous cycling and swimming groups, and sang in CrosSing, St. John Lutheran Church’s contemporary band.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, MD on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11 a.m., St. John Lutheran Church, 300 W. Maple Road, Linthicum, Maryland, with burial to follow in Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, MD.
