Robert Spencer Hobson, age 81, of Owings Mills, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Born on April 21, 1944, in Virginia, he was the beloved son of Earl Harris Hobson and Thelma Rae Hobson (née Atkinson).
Robert was the loving husband of the late Barbara Mae Hobson. He is survived by his devoted children, Robert Kenneth Hobson and Eric Bruce Hobson (wife Cindy); cherished grandchildren, Collin and Hannah Hobson, and the late Daniel Castillo; and great-grandchildren, Brianna Hobson, Walker Hobson, and Darien Castillo. He also leaves behind his brother, John Brady, and his devoted companion, Joyce Foy.
A proud veteran, Robert honorably served in the United States Army. He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles, enjoying many games at Camden Yards with his favorite chili dogs and beer. He loved spending time with family, taking long walks, and watching space launches. Robert also treasured his cruises, especially to Alaska and the Bahamas, and had a fondness for dining on salmon.
Robert’s warm spirit and passions will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
