I am thankful granddaddy got to meet my whole world, my son. I hold granddaddy so close to my heart and when i got the news i couldn’t believe it. Im thankful i got to spend a few last laughs with him, catch up on things , hug him , show him some funny snapchat filters and just see him smile. Growing up i would always be so excited to visit him in North Carolina. Sometimes, i wouldn’t want to leave. I remember waking up and eating biscuits and tomatoes with him , drinking our orange juice. Then,  we would go and sit on the porch and he would show me how he can make the humming birds come and sit on his finger. He always told me “ you have to be very  patient and they will come to you”. Sometimes i put those words to use in my daily life as well. Just be patient and things will come your way. I will miss him very much and i send the rest of the family , even those i never really speak to , my love and hugs. 

Knowing Earl for many,many years, there are too many Memories to count. We had lot's of great laughter, fun and a wonderful frienship that lasted for a life time. 
We are missing Earl along with you. With heartfelt sympathy.

To the family of Earl Christian (Uncle Earl) my condolences go out to you. I have known Earl since 1994 and I have grown a strong bond with him over the years. I have felt honored to have known him and to call him my Uncle. What a great man he was. I will cherish all of those great memories we had together. Fishing, watching football games, the many Thanksgiving dinners and most of all being able to see him every time I was in Franklin at Mitzy's house for a good meal. He was my mentor. He showed me that he could fix anything. I remember him telling me stories of how he grew up in the mountains with no telephone, car, air conditioning, heating, having to hunt food with his father to seeing all the changes over the years to the advancement of technology. He sat, "Man things have sure changed over my years. Thought I would never see the things I have seen". And he was right. So again my heart goes out to the entire family of Uncle Earl . In closing I want to say "Christ" what a heck of a man Uncle Earl was! What a wonderful full life he lived. He will truly be missed by many. I was proud to have him as my Uncel and friend. We Soooooo loved our Uncle Earl! Musician, fisherman, mechanic, Gardner, story teller, Jack of all trades, but most of all.....when you were with him he always made you feel loved😁 I can't wait till I can hug his neck again.

Even though we have not seen you in years. You were my only Uncle I actually called Uncle. I don't know if it was as a child your kindness and lovely heart or what it was but I always called you Uncle Earl. All of my other uncles are just called by their first name.  You will be missed.  Sending Hugs and kisses to heaven for you.  Mom says also, you will be missed. She will always remember listening to you play in your band. She says great memories. 

Our dad was a very unique man who was very talented and skilled with his hands. He had many hobbies and passions throughout his life, which has inspired his children, stepson, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews to do many of the same things. Our dad had a good life living on the water in Pasadena feeding the ducks when’d come home from work and living in the mountains feeding the squirrels and sometimes the black bears that came on his porch at night. He was a nature lover that could grow just about anything. His neighbors miss him in NC and all the vegetables he would share with them. I’m so happy that I had 5 more years with you dad. I will miss you sharing your stories with me. Love you Lynn

I remember Earl from many years ago, We were always with his band on Saturday nights at the Elk Lodge  Many good times were shared. God rest his soul  Many condolences to his family,  charlotte gilliam

Dad you will truly be missed! Can’t believe how much we came to know each other more since you came to live with me! I was happy to be your caregiver! I’m sorry if I complained or ever hurt your feelings. I learned a lot during this time! I’m so great full to have you as my father! You were a fun person with many skills  interest and hobbies. I hope maybe next year I can try to grow tomatoes. You taught me how important it is to nurture and take care of a garden. You were loved by so many people! My name is Hollie. I didn't know Russell at all, other than stories I heard from Ms. Connie. Russell raised some awesome kids and I am so blessed to know Connie and Wanda.  Russell's family and friends are all in my thoughts and prayers. He is always with you.
