Theresa (Terri) Lynn Wolfrom (nee Bonfiglio) passed away April 20, 2022 at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, Delaware with her family and close family friends by her side after a long and brave battle with cancer. She was born on June 18, 1959 in Highland Park, Michigan and grew up in the suburbs of Detroit. She attended the University of Michigan on an Air Force ROTC scholarship and graduated Cum Laude in 1981 with a Bachelor’s Degree from the College of Engineering. After graduation and commissioning in the Air Force she was stationed at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia. While there, she met Joseph Wolfrom and they married on May 4th, 1985. After her discharge from the Air Force, the couple moved to Maryland, where they worked and raised a family over the next 36 years. The couple retired in Millsboro, Delaware in 2021.
Terri worked for a number of government contractors over the years including Synergy, CTA, ARINC, CSC, SGT, before finishing her career as a Program Manager at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL). Along the way, she performed numerous Systems Engineering roles for various government agencies including NASA, FAA, DHS, and NAVAIR. In 1996, she earned a Masters of Science Degree from the University of Maryland University College. After joining JHU/APL, she also began teaching Masters-level Systems Engineering courses for the Whiting School of Engineering of the Johns Hopkins University.
In her free time, Terri enjoyed multiple arts and crafts, including knitting, jewelry making, and stained glass. She also enjoyed the outdoors including playing golf and going on hikes, especially through the National Parks. She was a dog-lover and rescued 6 furry friends over the years. An extrovert, there was nothing Terri enjoyed more than getting together with friends and socializing. She also enjoyed a glass of red wine or a good craft beer (from time-to-time).
Terri was a passionate fan of the University of Michigan (GO BLUE!), and she loved the sport of baseball. She was a life-long fan of the Detroit Tigers and adopted the Washington Nationals as her National League team after they moved to Washington DC. Her ideal Friday night dinner date was a Ben’s Chili Bowl half smoke at a Nationals game. She was a season ticket holder of the Nationals and made many friends in Sections 310 and 311 at Nats Park. Over the years, she combined her love of travel and baseball by attending a game in all 30 major league ballparks.
Terri led a fun-filled, joyous, and active life which she never let cancer deter. She will always be remembered for her strength and courage in the face of this dreaded disease, as well as the ‘Just Keep Swimming’ mantra that she adopted and lived by.
Terri is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Joseph of Millsboro, DE; sons, Matthew of Van Nuys, CA and David of Millsboro; siblings, Victoria Hartman of Boise, ID, James Michael Bonfiglio and his wife, Sharon of Perrysburg, OH, Richard Bonfiglio and his wife, Cindy of Edgerton, WI, Kim Shrum and her husband, Gary of Ft. Wayne, IN and step-sister, Brandi Daniels and her husband, Lee, of Brighton, MI. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom where her favorite.
In addition to family members, Terri leaves behind a boatload of heartbroken friends that she made with ease throughout her life, as well as a number of her son’s friends who she unofficially adopted as her own.

Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, MD 21075 on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 7:00-9:00 PM and on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 12:00-2:00 PM.
