

Donald E. Clapper passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 9, 2014 in the comfort of his home. Don was born to Charles J. Clapper and Neva M. (McCathron) Clapper on May 17, 1929 in Vetal, South Dakota. In early 1941, after the passing of his parents, Don moved to Tri Cities Washington and was raised by his siblings. After graduation Don worked as a lineman for an electric company and met his first wife, Lois Ann Klocke. Don and Lois were married in 1950 and moved to Ellensburg in 1954. Don and Lois settled on Klocke Rd where they raised their 7 children and farmed the land. Don made a career at Kittitas County Courthouse where he eventually retired in the mid 90's. Don lost his wife Lois to cancer in1996. He met his 2nd wife Bonnie Anderson and they were married in April of 1999. Together Don and Bonnie built a home on the farmstead and enjoyed their 15 years of marriage. Don enjoyed farming his land, driving his 4-wheeler up and down Klocke Rd, and being a life long member of the Ellensburg Rodeo Posse. Don was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Neva Clapper, wife Lois Ann Clapper, son Duane, and siblings Frank, Zola, Lola, Dale, Mary, Clayton, Lois, and Dean Clapper.Don is survived by his wife Bonnie; his children, Mike (Susan) Clapper, Ron (Cindy) Clapper, Patrick (Ute) Clapper, James (Debbie) Clapper, LeAnn (Zane) Hayes, Robert (Laura) Clapper; his step children Shaunna (Ramzi) Karlous, and Korey (Tara) McCoy; 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Public viewing Friday December 12th 6-8pm at Steward & Williams Tribute Center. Services will be held Saturday December 13, 2014 @11a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Ellensburg. Public viewing prior to service 10-11am. Immediately following service, there will be a gravesite burial at Holy Cross Cemetery with a reception following at St. Andrews Catholic Church.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Women of St. Andrews Catholic church at time of reception.
Arrangements are under the direction of Steward & Williams Tribute Center.
