

Vincent W. Mohan, 93, died May 12, 2014, in Ellensburg, WA. He was born March 6, 1921, in Salem, Ohio, the son of Patrick and Matilda (Welty) Mohan. Vincent graduated from Scott High in Braddock, PA. During World War II and the Korean War, Vincent served in the U.S. Navy in the submarine service, retiring from active duty in 1962. He continued his service in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1962 to1972, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer EMC (SS) with an Honorable Discharge in 1972. Vincent married Agnes C. "Sandy" (Graaff) on June 8, 1947. After Vincent's retirement from the service, they moved to Ellensburg, WA. Vincent then completed a second career with the Ellensburg School District, retiring from the Maintenance Division after 20 years.Vincent was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1956, and served as State Vice President and State President for the Public School Employees, PSE. Vincent was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy. Survivors include sons, Richard Mohan (Bill Mitchell) of Seattle, Dennis (Darlene) Mohan, of Castle Rock, and Kevin (Terri) Mohan of Ellensburg; daughter, Bonnie Mohan of Mesa, AZ; son, Roberto Mendez (Elizabeth) of Miami Springs, FL; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Viewing will take place from 3:30 to 5:30 pm Sunday, May 18 at Steward and Williams, and 6:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday, May 18 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, May 19 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Ellensburg with burial to follow at High Valley Cemetery.
