Andrea Elaine Molinaro

October 30, 1949 – November 20, 2024

Andrea Elaine Molinaro, age 75, of Ellenton, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Manatee Memorial Hospital after suffering a severe stroke. At her passing, she was surrounded and loved by her immediate family. Andrea was known for her loving warmth, generosity, spirit, and continued desire to work.

Andrea was born on October 30, 1949, to George Bucuvalas and Vita Lucido in Quincy, Massachusetts. After graduating from Woodward School in 1967, she married the love of her life Joseph Molinaro Jr. They were happily married and shared a wonderful life together for 56 years. Joe and Andrea lived in Plymouth, Massachusetts for many years and owned their own window treatment business in Belmont, Massachusetts, for over 45 years. Andrea was known as “Shady Lady” and Joe as the “Blind Man”. After moving to Ellenton, Florida in 2014 with her husband with intent to retire, Andrea decided she still loved to work and enjoyed her part time employment at the retail stores at the Ellenton Outlet Mall. Andrea enjoyed the beautiful beaches of Anna Maria Island as well as caring for all her plants and flowers on her lanai. Andrea especially loved to cook for her family and friends.

Andrea is survived by her loving and adoring husband Joseph Molinaro Jr., her twin brothers Peter Bucuvalas and his wife Susan of Falmouth, Massachusetts, Paul Bucuvalas and Andrea Malangone of Sarasota, Florida, and her sister Zoe Bucuvalas and her fiancée of Stoneham, Massachusetts, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and sister-in-laws.

Andrea will be dearly missed by her two sons, George Molinaro and his wife Andrea, Joseph Molinaro and his wife Sharon, all of Parrish, Florida, grandchildren Abigail Molinaro, Stefan Adams, Andy Lacanic, Mandi Martinez and her husband Justin, as well as three great grandchildren.

A visitation for Andrea will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave East, Ellenton, FL 34222. A prayer service will occur Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM, 1400 36th Ave East, Ellenton, FL 34222. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 1400 36th Ave E, Ellenton, FL 34222.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, a children’s care facility Andrea felt strongly about.
