Frances Josephine Grant

Frances "Gigi", 75, peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2015. She was born in Tampa, Florida, January 8, 1940. The family moved to Terra Ceia when she was a young child and became a lifelong resident of Manatee County. Frances retired as a CNA. She had a passion for taking care of others, being on the water, sharing memories of being at the beach, and spending time with her daughter, granddaughter, and great grandchildren, whom she loved more than life itself. She was preceded in death by her father, Algerine Grant, her mother, Hazel Grant Hall and stepfather, Charles T. Hall; her brothers, Edward Grant and Gregory Hall; her infant son, Rodney Wingate, Jr. and former husband and father of her children, Rodney Wingate. She is survived by her daughter, Janie (Jimmy) Cannon, granddaughter, Amy (Tom) Arrant, and great grandchildren; Aly, Jake, and Cole, all of Parrish; sisters, Alice Morey, Betty Maraist, and Brenda (Buddy) Moore, all of Texas; and hosts of nieces, nephews, and other family relatives. Memorial services will be Saturday, May 23, at New Hope Baptist Church, Parrish, 4 pm. Memorials may be made in Ms. Grant's memory to New Hope Baptist Youth Fund, 9422 Old Tampa Road, Parrish, Florida 34219. Family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall.
