With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Henrietta “Connie” Grinstead, our loving and devoted great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on December 27, 2022, at Tidewell Hospice, in her 92nd year.
She was born in Kankakee, IL, on October 26, 1930. She worked as a secretary for her parents business, a local community college, and her spouse. She married Ray Grinstead, a veteran and they moved to Florida around 1969, and spent the rest of their lives there.
In everything she did she had a humble spirit. From being active in her church, to helping others, her relationship with Christ, she valued most. In fact, one of her favorite sayings was “Jesus loves you and I do too.” She used her talents in various crafts, such as an excellent seamstress, shell-artist, watercolor painter, knitter, & crocheter.
Her life forever left her legacy on all her family and friends. Her family members Diana, Amy, Brent, Emily, and Caleb will especially miss her, but we find comfort knowing that she is in heaven with Jesus now, with no pain or physical limitations. We are so thankful for the many years the Lord gave us all together and we look forward to seeing her again someday.
A funeral service for Henrietta will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 3131 61st Street, Sarasota, FL 34243. A committal service will occur Friday, January 13, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
