

Jamie Lynn Cox age 66, passed away unexpectedly August 23rd, 2021, at Manatee Memorial Hospital, she was born May 8th, 1955 in St. Petersburg, FL, the daughter of James O. and Pauline E. (Mason) Williams.
Jamie graduated from St. Pete High School Class of 1973. Following graduation, she attended Florida State University. After College, she married James Cox and they lived in the St. Pete area for a few years, but finally settled and became long time Ellenton residents.
Jamie & Jim moved to Ellenton in 1988 with a mission to grow & enrich DaySprings Episcopal Conference Center for non-profit organizations and all denominations in Christ through the ministry of hospitality. Through their time and efforts at DaySprings, it became a nationally known Conference Center.
Jamie was known for her baking skills, singing, playing guitar, her gardening successes, love and compassion for all her animal friends including her beloved dog, Tinker Belle. She touched many lives with her caring, compassion and willingness to help those in need. She was a former member of the Manatee County Girl’s Club, Inc.
She was preceded by her parents James and Pauline and her nephew Blake. Jamie is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, James Cox, her sister Pauldie Ann (Randy) Howrigan and nephew Jim Freeman, stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 26th for family and friends at 1:00 PM in the Tripp Family Pavilion at DaySprings Episcopal Conference Center, 8411 25th St. E, Parrish, FL Interment will be private, at the DaySprings Chapel at a later date.
