Jack was born in Franklin, Indiana, and grew up in Whiteland, Indiana. Just days after turning 18 years old, he answered the call to serve his country and embarked on a proud 20-year career in the United States Air Force. Jack married his high school sweetheart, Deann (Davis), at the age of 24 and together they shared 53 beautiful years together. After her passing, he was blessed with a second marriage to Esther (Shrum), who also preceded him in death after seven years together.
A man of quiet strength and kindness, Jack found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved camping and fishing, playing dominos, gardening, especially the roses he grew with care. He was always available to help friends and family.
He was a devoted father to Denise Greer (David) and a proud grandfather to Hunter (Mary Michael), Alexis (Drew), and Caleb (Margie). His legacy continues in his great-grandchildren: Henry, James, Elliot, and Claire.
We rejoice in knowing that Jack is now at rest, reunited with loved ones, and walking and rejoicing in the gardens of Heaven, made new and free from all pain.
Celebration of life will be Friday, April 25, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Fellowship Alliance Church, 5735 69th Street East, Palmetto, FL 34221 and 4:00 pm interment with Military Honor Guard at Fortner Cemetery 136th Terrace East Parrish, FL 34219.
