John Thurman Ward Jr.

He worked several years as a supervisor at Lancaster Glass in Lancaster, Ohio, where he met the love of his life Maxine. They moved to Florida where he worked at Tropicana for 30 years as well as the Union President/Vice President of the local 208.

John is survived by his loving wife Maxine of almost 49 years. His children Dianna (Rick) Lawson, Marjorie Grubb, Melinda (Don) Burrow, Theresa (Solomon) Chasteen, John T Ward III and Tammy (Patrick) Lavender along with 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Brother of James (Barb) Ward, sister to Angie (Brad) Badamer as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by daughter Brenda Srubb and sister Rosalee Clark.

John’s love and passion for his farm, animals, horses, fishing as well as being outside showed on his face that brought a smile to all and will always be remembered as one of a kind man. He will truly be missed by all that has a chance to know him.

Visitation will be held at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave East, Ellenton, Florida on Tuesday February 22nd from 5-8 PM and services will be on Wednesday 23rd at 10 AM. Burial services will follow.
